The children will have lunch at school, and will be back by 3.15. • Information Summer Reading Challenge 2026 • Yr. 1 and 2 - international day: We would like to bring our theme to an end with an international day on Tuesday 14th of July. The children can wear clothes from around the world if they have any or football kits or their party wear. We ask you kindly to send one item of international food so the children can taste a variety of foods. Please can you make sure that there are no nuts in any of the food items. • After school club September 2026 • A note to remind you that Dr Bike will come to school to check and fix your child's bike before the Bikeability course next week. Check the dates below to see when to send your child's bike to school. If your child attends breakfast club, they can bring their bike through the hall to the KS2 bike stands. Important! Please make sure that you have ordered your child's packed lunch a.s.a.p. using the google forms link below please. • Gwersyll yr Urdd Glan Llyn ~ Year 3 and 4 Trip: This is to confirm the details of the Year 3 and 4 trip to Glan Llyn. Date: Tuesday, 14th July. Departure from school: 8:30am. Return to school: approx 5:00pm During the day, the children will have the opportunity to take part in the following activities: Canoeing, Raft building, Rope course, Climbing wall Please ensure that you complete the form below indicating your child’s sandwich choice. Remember that the children will also need to bring additional food and drink with them. Dewis cinio Glan Llyn BL3a4 – Fill in form • PC Gareth letter • Parents of pupils in the Derwen Class: Just a note to inform you that Mr Owen Hughes, Derwen class teacher, is currently absent from work due to illness. We have supply teachers in the class temporarily. The Year 3 and 4 classes work closely as a Unit in planning provision for all the Under 9 Unit pupils. We do not yet know when Mr Hughes will be well enough to return, but we wish him a speedy recovery. Many thanks for your understanding. • Year 3 and 4: We kindly ask that children come to school wearing trainers, or bring them in a bag, on Monday and Tuesday next week please. As the weather forecast looks uncertain, we will need to make the most of any dry periods to go out on the field and practise ahead of Sports Day on Wednesday. The children will need to wear their normal PE kit for sports day. • Under 7 unit: Our new theme is 'The four corners of the World'. This will be a chance to learn about countries like India, Thailand and Japan as well as some corners of Europe. These are some dates for you to note so far... June 16th- sports afternoon starting at 1 o 'clock. June 22nd- Our trip to Manorafon farm. • After School Club • This afternoon we have distributed competition tickets for the pupils who are taking part in the Urdd National Eisteddfod. The children have received a ticket (an A4 page with a QR code) – please remember it and keep it safe so that your child can gain entry to the Maes next week. You may take a screenshot of the ticket and save it on your mobile phone before presenting it at the entrance if that is easier. Each competitor has also received a school tie to wear with a white long‑sleeved shirt. We are looking forward to the competitions next week. Yesterday's performances were very special as we practised and performed in Capel Bethania. I would like to thank the staff for all their hard work in preparing the children. I look forward to seeing the pupils of Ysgol Pen Barras competing next week – Onwards to Anglesey! • You have already received information regarding the Year 3 and 4 trip to Glan Llyn on Tuesday, 14th July. Payment – £32 to be paid via ParentPay. You may pay in instalments. Once again, thank you to the PTA for donating £10 per child. Medical form – The children will be bringing a medical form home over the next few days. We kindly ask you to complete the form and return it as soon as possible. Lunch – The kitchen staff will provide a sandwich for each child for the trip. We ask that you complete the Forms questionnaire below, indicating your child’s sandwich choice. If you have any questions regarding the trip, please feel free to contact us. • We are currently in the process of organising the annual School Eisteddfod. If your child won a trophy at last year’s Eisteddfod, we would be grateful if you could return it to the school as soon as possible. • A reminder of the year 5 and 6 Royal Welsh Show this Thursday. The children are welcome to come to school in their own clothes or farming clothes. We also kindly ask that if you have a glass jar, would it be possible for the children to bring one with them on the day? I am attaching the homework task sheet again as well. We will display all the hard work the children have completed in the classes for the rest of the school to come and see.
